Spread love one bite at a time with these heartwarming rice krispy hearts, half-dipped in Bittersweet Cacao Wafers. They're the perfect Valentine's Day surprise for your special someone or to simply snack on as a solo treat.
Ingredients
- 6 cups puffed rice cereal
- 6 cups mini marshmallows
- 5 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Valentines sprinkles
- Chocolate:
-
2 cups Navitas Organics Bittersweet Cacao Wafers
- 1 Tbsp. coconut oil
Directions
- Spray a 13x9-inch baking dish and line with parchment. Set aside.
- Add cereal to a large bowl and set aside.
- Melt butter in a large pot on low heat. Stir in vanilla and salt, then add marshmallows and stir until marshmallows are completely melted. Remove from heat and pour into bowl of cereal. Mix with a spatula until cereal is evenly coated.
- Spread mixture into prepared pan. Place parchment paper on top and press down into an even layer. Let set in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before removing from pan. Use heart-shaped cookie cutters and press down into mixture to create heart cutouts, starting from the edge and working your way across.
- Place parchment on a flat surface and a wire rack on top. Place rice krispy hearts on wire rack.
- In a small bowl, microwave cacao wafers with coconut oil in 20-second increments, stirring each time. Dip half of each rice krispy heart into melted chocolate and place on wire rack. Repeat with all hearts, then sprinkle chocolate halves with Valentines sprinkles. Refrigerate for 15 minutes before enjoying.
