Gluten-Free Chocolate Brownies Recipe

Moist, chewy and so delicious, these gluten- and dairy-free chocolate brownies made with cassava flour are extra enjoyable since they're also free of refined sugar!

INGREDIENTS

 cup cassava flour, or gluten-free flour of choice

 cup + 1 Tbsp. Navitas Organics Cacao Powder

 tsp. sea salt

3 organic eggs

¼ cup unsweetened applesauce

½ cup coconut oil, melted

10 Medjool dates, pitted

1 Tbsp. vanilla extract

½ cup + 2 Tbsp. maple syrup

1 cup raw walnuts or pecans, chopped

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 325˚F. Lightly oil the sides of an 8 x 8 -inch baking dish and line the bottom with parchment paper.

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cacao powder and salt. Set mixture aside.

In a high-speed blender, add the eggs, applesauce, oil, dates, vanilla and syrup. Process on high until smooth and creamy.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix well to combine. Stir in the nuts. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and bake for 33-35 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Brownies are best served warm.
