Vanilla & Greens Donuts Recipe

Vanilla & Greens Donuts Recipe

Donuts are typically great for breakfast and sharing with friends, but these are no ordinary donuts. So full of plant-based nutrients and rich vanilla flavor, you’ll not only want to eat them as an afternoon snack or late-night treat, you won’t want to share them at all! As an added bonus, they’re also vegan friendly.

INGREDIENTS

For the donuts:

1½ cups Gluten-Free Flour

3/4 cup Brown Sugar

3 tsp Navitas Organics Vanilla & Greens Essential Blend

2 tsp Baking Powder

1/4 tsp Sea Salt

3/4 cup Almond Milk

2 Tbsp Unsweetened Coconut Yogurt

1 tsp Vanilla Extract

4 Tbsp Coconut Oil, melted

For the glaze:

1 cup Icing Sugar, sifted

2 tsp Navitas Organics Vanilla &  Greens Essential Blend

2 Tbsp Almond Milk

1 Tbsp Vegan Butter, melted

Navitas Organics Cacao Nibs, for topping

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a donut pan generously with coconut oil and set aside.

For the donuts: In a bowl, combine the flour, Essential Blend and salt, then add the baking powder.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the almond milk, coconut yogurt, melted coconut oil and sugar until well combined.

Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and use a spatula to stir gently. Do not over mix.

Transfer the donut batter into a piping bag and pipe it into the donut mold evenly or use a spoon.

Bake for 20 minutes until lightly browned on top.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before transferring the donuts to a wire cooling rack.

Allow to cool completely before glazing.

For the glaze: Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl. Dip the donuts into the sugar glaze and then place onto a parchment-lined baking tray and top with cacao nibs.
