Superfood Pesto Recipe

This easy pesto recipe with a superfood twist combines cleansing greens with an abundance of hemp seeds in place of the traditional pine nuts for a ready-to-use sauce that stays vibrantly green, thanks to the lemon. As an added bonus, it's vegan-friendly since it uses nutritional yeast in place of parmesan!

INGREDIENTS

3 cups fresh basil

4 cloves garlic

⅓ cup nutritional yeast

1-2 tsp. Navitas Organics Superfood+ Greens Blend

1 tsp. Navitas Organics Wheatgrass Powder

¾ cup Navitas Organics Hemp Seeds

2 Tbsp. lemon juice

¼ cup olive oil

Sea salt and black pepper, to taste

DIRECTIONS

Combine all ingredients together in a high-speed blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.

Store in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Makes about one cup
