Chocolate Pancakes Recipe

These delicious chocolate pancakes are the perfect way for a chocolate lover to start their day! Spiced with cinnamon and packed with rich cacao in each bite, these fluffy pancakes will give you a sweet reason to get out of bed in the morning.

INGREDIENTS

1½ cups flour
¼ tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. baking soda
¼ cup Navitas Organics Cacao Powder
½ tsp. cinnamon
1 egg
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
½ cup sour cream
1 cup plant-based milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS

Sift together all dry ingredients in a large bowl, then whisk. Set aside.
In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together egg and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Add in oil, vanilla extract, sour cream, and milk. Whisk together and pour wet ingredients into bowl of dry ingredients. Combine with a spatula.
Set a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a bit of butter and vegetable oil. The vegetable oil helps the butter not burn quickly.
Use a ladle to pour pancake batter onto hot pan. Once air bubbles start forming on top, flip pancake over. After you flip it, cook for about a minute then plate it.
Serve with desired toppings, such as maple syrup and a pear compote with crushed pecans.
