Vegan burger with superfood bbq sauce

Superberry BBQ Sauce Recipe

Whatever you have planned for the grill, this tangy superfood barbecue sauce is ready to adorn it! Since it’s packed with antioxidants, you can feel great about using the sauce generously on burgers or even as a dip for fries.

INGREDIENTS

3 Tbsp Olive Oil

1 small White Onion, diced

2 cloves Garlic, minced

½ cup Water

1 pound Strawberries, diced

2 Medjool Dates, pitted

1 Tbsp Tamari Sauce

1 tsp Jalapeno Hot Sauce (or more to taste)

¼ cup White Wine Vinegar

2 scoops Navitas Organics Daily Superfood Beauty Boost

2 Tbsp (packed) Fresh Mint

DIRECTIONS

Warm the olive oil in a sauce pot over medium heat.

Add the onion and garlic, and cook for 10 minutes until lightly caramelized, stirring occasionally.

Add the water, strawberries, dates, tamari, hot sauce and vinegar. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until mixture has reduced by about half.

Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes.

Transfer to a blender and add the Beauty Boost as well as the mint. Blend until smooth.

Mixture should be the texture of a barbecue sauce. If it is too thick, add a little water as needed and blend once more.

Refrigerate until ready to use. Will store for one week, covered and refrigerated.
