Meet your new favorite Halloween cookie: soft, chewy, and naturally green from matcha, with a spooky eye that follows you around the party. They’re a little bit creepy and a whole lot tasty, making them the perfect treat for Halloween.

INGREDIENTS

½ cup salted butter, softened

¼ cup granulated sugar

½ cup brown sugar, packed

1 organic egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1½ cups all-purpose flour

2 Tbsp Navitas Organics Matcha Powder

½ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

Edible googly eyes (optional, but highly recommended)

DIRECTIONS

Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.

Beat the butter and both sugars for a few minutes, until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg and vanilla.

In another bowl, whisk the flour, matcha, baking soda, and salt until the matcha is fully mixed in. Add this to the wet ingredients and mix until you have a soft, sticky dough.

Scoop about 15 small dough balls. Bake 6 at a time, spaced about 2 inches apart.

Bake on the middle rack for about 12 minutes, until the bottoms are lightly golden.

Let them cool on the pan for 2 minutes, then press in the googly eyes while the cookies are still warm.

Move them to a rack to finish cooling and enjoy your little monsters!
