Whether you have specific dietary restrictions or simply want to try a healthier twist on the classic brownie, these fudgy brownies made with cacao powder and cacao wafers are the perfect dairy- and grain-free indulgence. Enjoy them on their own or pair them with a scoop of dairy-free ice cream for an extra special treat.
Ingredients
- ¾ cup plant-based butter
-
-
⅓ cup Navitas Organics Cacao Powder
- 3 organic eggs
- 1½ cups granulated sugar
- ⅔ cup almond flour
- ½ tsp. salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F and grease and line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment paper.
In a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl, melt together butter and cacao wafers in 30 second intervals, stirring in between. Once melted and smooth, whisk in cacao powder.
- In a large mixing bowl, use a whisk or stand mixer fitted with whisk attachment to beat eggs and sugar together for 4 minutes.
- Slowly whisk melted chocolate mixture into egg mixture.
- Add in almond flour and salt, and whisk together until combined.
- Pour brownie batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until brownies are set on the outsides and only slightly jiggle in the middle.
- Let fully cool before cutting. Serve and enjoy!
