Apple Cinnamon Spice Scones Recipe
These perfectly sweet, deliciously spiced scones pair well with superfood lattes or other warm drinks, but can also serve as comforting after-dinner treats when topped with whipped cream or ice cream!
2 cups gluten-free oat flour
⅔ cup arrowroot starch
2 tsp. cinnamon
¼ cup coconut sugar + 1-2 Tbsp. for topping
½ tsp. kosher salt
½ tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
¾ cup oat milk, warmed
5 Tbsp. Navitas Organics Cacao Butter, melted
Preheat oven to 400˚ F. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, arrowroot starch, cinnamon, ¼ cup coconut sugar, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.
Whisk dry ingredients together until well combined. Next, pour warmed oat milk and melted cacao butter into the dry ingredients and mix until all ingredients are well combined.
Place parchment paper on a baking sheet and pour scone batter into the center of the baking sheet. Using a spatula, shape the batter into a circle and sprinkle with remaining coconut sugar.
Place scones in the oven for 20 minutes or until baked through and slightly golden brown on top. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before slicing into triangles and serving.
