Hemp Waffles Recipe

Fluffy and crisp in all the right places‚ these waffles are packed with healthy omega fats, plant-based protein, and a boost of minerals, thanks to nutrient-dense hemp and chia seeds.

INGREDIENTS

1¼ cups plant-based milk of choice

1½ tsp. apple cider vinegar

1 Tbsp. Navitas Organics Chia Powder

½ tsp. vanilla extract

1 cup whole wheat flour

2 Tbsp. organic cane sugar

1½ tsp. baking powder

½ tsp. baking soda

¼ tsp. sea salt

2 Tbsp. coconut oil, melted + more for brushing waffle iron

3 Tbsp. Navitas Organics Hemp Seeds

DIRECTIONS

In a small bowl, whisk together the almond milk, vinegar, chia powder and vanilla extract. Let stand for 10 minutes.

In a medium bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and sea salt. Add the almond milk mixture, 2 tablespoons coconut oil and hemp seeds, and stir until just combined – do not over-mix.

Heat the waffle iron. Once hot, brush lightly with oil. Pour in ½ cup of batter* and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until waffles are golden and crispy. Serve immediately or store in an oven warmed to 250° F while making the remaining waffles.

Serving suggestion: Top with fresh berries, coconut whipped cream and maple syrup.

*If using a Belgium waffle maker, adjust batter quantity to fit size of appliance.
