Cacao Avocado Pie Recipe

Made with velvety avocado, organic cacao powder and semi-sweet cacao wafers, this dessert is a perfectly balanced blend of indulgence and wholesome ingredients. Its silky texture and deep chocolate flavor make it the ultimate treat for festive gatherings or any time you want to impress your guests with a healthier twist on a classic favorite.

INGREDIENTS

⅓ cup Navitas Organics Cacao Powder
2 ripe avocados, pits removed
4 Tbsp. almond milk
3 Tbsp. pure maple syrup
1 cup Navitas Organics Semi-sweet Cacao Wafers, melted
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Gluten-free pie crust (or homemade)

DIRECTIONS

Prepare and bake pie crust according to package directions or prepare your own pie crust, if preferred.
In a food processor, add cacao powder, avocados, almond milk, maple syrup, and salt.
In a small microwave-safe bowl, add cacao wafers and microwave for 1-1½ minutes, stirring halfway, until melted. Add melted chocolate to food processor.
Process ingredients until smooth (30-45 seconds) and most of the avocado has been mixed in. 
Transfer chocolate avocado mousse to baked pie crust and smooth chocolate around to fill center evenly.
If using, sprinkle cacao nibs on one side of pie.
Cover and let pie cool in fridge for at least 1 hour, until chocolate mousse has firmed up.

Makes 1 pie / 8 slices
