Jook

Jook

Nourishing Soup

Traditionally‚ jook is served for breakfast in street cafes or as a “get well” dish during cold and flu season. It is often served with duck or an over-easy fried egg‚ but can easily be adapted to a vegetarian diet.

INGREDIENTS

1 Tbsp Navitas Organics Goji Berries*
2 Cup Sushi Rice
5 Cup Water

Toppings:

Grated Fresh Ginger Root Soy Sauce

Diced Tofu

Miso

Diced Shallots

Chili Oil

Navitas Organics Goji Berries

DIRECTIONS

Boil the rice in a pot on the stove until the rice is very soft and breaking apart. Keep adding water to keep the rice soupy, like a porridge.

Don’t let the rice dry out.

Scoop the porridge into large bowls and serve with a variety of toppings for your friends to select from.

Stir the toppings into the rice and enjoy.

* Goji Berries can be cooked with the rice or added after.
