Cinnamon Swirl Muffins

Deliciousness aside‚ these little muffins are so full of nutrition, they deserve an award! They're high in protein‚ full of essential fatty acids‚ stocked with fiber and made with fantastic whole foods.


½ Cup Navitas Organics Coconut Palm Sugar
½ tsp sea salt
2½ tsp cinnamon‚ divided
¼ Cup Navitas Organics Hemp Seeds
¼ tsp nutmeg
2 Tbsp Navitas Organics Hemp Protein Powder
2 Tbsp Navitas Organics Chia Seed Powder
2 Tbsp Agave Nectar
1 Cup Water
1 Cup Apple Sauce
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
2 tsp Baking Powder


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 12-cup muffin tin.

Make the cinnamon swirl sauce: Mix the hemp protein powder‚ agave nectar and 1-1/2 tsp. cinnamon in a small bowl and set aside.

Blend: 1 cup water with the hemp seeds and transfer to a medium bowl. Stir in applesauce‚ palm sugar and vanilla extract and set aside.

Mix: In a large bowl mix flour‚ baking powder‚ baking soda‚ salt‚ nutmeg‚ 1 tsp. cinnamon and chia powder together. Fold in applesauce mixture and stir until just combined – do not over mix.

Fold: Pour in cinnamon swirl sauce. Fold into batter turning just 2 or 3 times (avoid mixing in too well to keep “swirl”).

Transfer & Bake: Spoon the batter evenly into 12 muffin cups. Bake for 20-25 minutes‚ or until a toothpick inserted in the muffin center comes out clean. Cool before serving.
